Stalybridge Celtic and Boston United meet at Bower Fold on Saturday afternoon in a re-arranged Vanarama National League North encounter.

With respective scheduled opponents Brackley Town and Curzon Ashton in Emirates FA Cup second round action, Celtic and United will contest league points two months earlier than planned.

Martyn Bunce will finally take charge of his first match as United caretaker boss, following the postponement of Tuesday’s Buildbase FA Trophy trip to Witton Albion.

There are no new additions to the United squad, while five players remain sidelined through injury.

In-form duo Gregg Smith and Jay Rollins are likely to lead the United line as the Pilgrims seek a first victory since November 5.

Stalybridge, who defeated the Pilgrims at The Jakemans Stadium on the opening day of the season, are second bottom and have won only three times in league action so far.

They are now managed by Steve Halford and Paul Phillips following Liam Watson’s departure earlier in the campaign.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 5-0 in the Pilgrims’ favour.
