Boston United’s involvement in under-21s development football will have an exciting new feel for the 2015-2016 campaign.

After introducing the under-21s concept in 2014-2015, a new competition to take part in will refresh the set-up further.

The Pilgrims are looking to enter the new Lincolnshire Under-21s Development League — as well as playing fixtures against other National League and Football League sides throughout the season.

United’s under-21s team will be coached by UEFA B licence holder Callum Lawe — with the project overseen by existing Centre of Excellence administrator Lewis Thorogood.

Lawe (24) is an established coach in youth football and works locally at the Thomas Middlecott Academy in Kirton and he will be ably supported by Thorogood (29).

United chairman David Newton told bufc.co.uk: "We believe that a successful under-21s team can benefit Boston United in the long-term and we look forward to enhancing this project during the season ahead. I wish Callum and Lewis every success going forward."

Prospective players will need to commit to regular training and development sessions, as well as competing in fixtures. The squad will be supplemented by United first team players as appropriate and certain training sessions will take place alongside the first team.

Any prospective under-21s players should contact Lewis Thorogood via lewis.thorogood@bufc.co.uk in the first instance.

Fixtures for the under-21s will be announced in due course.
