Boston United Ladies goalkeeper Olivia Clark has been called up to the provisional Wales women's under-19s squad for the first time.

The 16-year-old underwent trials for the Wales women's under-19s last month.

The Pilgrims' keeper will have to wait until February to join up with the squad, due to her not being able to travel to the weekly training programme at Ystrad Mynach from her Lincolnshire base.

Clark has already represented England Schools but qualifies to represent Wales through a Welsh grandparent.

She has been at Boston United since the start of the 2016-2017 season after moving from Lincolnshire FA Centre of Excellence and despite not turning 17 until next August, she has been a key player in Nick Reeson's Ladies side this season.

"Everyone at Boston United is absolutely thrilled for Liv," said Reeson. "She is an outstanding talent and this call-up is testament to her hard work and dedication.

"Her move up into senior football this season has been seamless and she has been the backbone to the team's fantastic start, with some outstanding performances."
