Boston United have launched a clampdown on supporters wrongfully gaining concessionary admission to The Jakemans Stadium.

There have been a number of instances where older teenagers in particular have gained admission to the stadium for the price of a child’s entry.

Increased checks will now be put in place to ensure that all supporters are paying the correct level of admission in accordance with their age and personal circumstances.

United chairman David Newton told bufc.co.uk: “The football club needs the full support of the fans in this initiative. Although the financial losses at the club are being brought down year-on-year, the club needs every penny of income. It is therefore important that everybody attending our matches pays the correct level of admission fee.

“More importantly it is unfair on the vast majority of our supporters who are totally honest and pay full value for tickets, but the minority are unfortunately letting everybody down.

“Our staff have been asked to be extra vigilant to spot anybody flaunting the rules.”

The admission brackets at Boston United comprise:

ADULTS
Aged 17 years and upwards and not in full-time education — up to the national pension age.

CONCESSIONS
Applies to senior citizens and those supporters in full-time education and in possession of valid NUS documentation.

CHILDREN
Applies to youngsters aged 16 years and under.

Boston United would like to meanwhile remind supporters that they are not permitted to transfer from the Jakemans (Town End) Stand to or from the Spayne Road Terrace unless they have an express permission or instruction from any steward, officer of the club and/or Police officer.
