The sixth annual Pilgrim Cup tournament, in partnership with Duncan & Toplis, took place over the weekend.

The tournament, hosted by RAF College Cranwell and in partnership with Duncan & Toplis, took place with 180 Football League, Football Conference and elite development sides taking part over nine different age groups.

A record attendance over the weekend of over 4,000 people supported the event.

Some excellent football was played over both days with the likes of Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Rotherham United, Chesterfield, Peterborough United, Lincoln City, Grimsby Town and Watford taking part.

The winners included Lincoln City, who won the under-10s, 11s, 15s and 16s categories while Doncaster Rovers were victorious at under-8s, 12s and 13s levels.

Elsewhere Peterborough United won the under-9s age group and Qualitas took the under-14s honours.

Boston United finished runners-up at under-14s and 15s.

The RAF College Cranwell Commandant was also on hand as a guest of the tournament to present some of the winners with their trophies.

Tournament organiser Lewis Thorogood commented on the weekend success and told bufc.co.uk: "I would like to thank all the teams, coaches, parents and spectators who attended this record event.

"I would also like to place on record my thanks to RAF College Cranwell for allowing us to host the event, Duncan & Toplis and Listers BMW in Boston who sponsored the tournament and all the staff, students, referees and volunteers who gave their whole weekend to make this event a success."
