Dixon (19) had a productive loan spell with the Pilgrims last season and links up again with Dennis Greene’s squad — alongside Meadow Lane team-mate Tempest (20).

The midfield duo have been granted permission to play in the FA Cup and could feature against Dereham Town on Saturday.

Dixon made his Football League debut for County last season having returned from his loan spell with United, while Tempest has made 16 league appearances for the Magpies, in addition to six under-21s appearances for Northern Ireland.

The duo are scheduled to be with the Pilgrims for one month initially.
