FA Inter-League Cup clash re-arranged

FA Inter-League Cup clash re-arranged

Craig Singleton14 Feb 2012 - 09:14

The FA Inter-League Cup tie between the Lincolnshire League and the Cheshire League has been re-arranged.

The match should have taken place at Lincoln United’s Ashby Avenue ground on Saturday but was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The quarter-final encounter, with Boston United Reserves’ boss Glen Maddison in charge of the Lincolnshire League side, will now take place on Saturday March 3 (kick-off 3.00pm).

The Ashby Avenue clash will ultimately hand the winners a trip to the Jersey Football Combination or the Somerset County League in the last four.

Several United reserve team players have been involved in the competition so far — including goalkeeper Andy Hewitt, defender Scott Dawson, midfielder Richard Jackson and striker Tom Sergeant.

As a consequence of the re-arrangement, the Pilgrims' Supplementary Cup clash against Heckington United has been moved back to Saturday March 24 at The Jakemans Stadium.
