FA Youth Cup action set to unfold

Craig Singleton19 Oct 2011 - 10:07

Boston United entertain Stourport Swifts in the FA Youth Cup at The Jakemans Stadium on Wednesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

The winners will be rewarded with a trip to Burton Albion in the first round proper — meaning there is plenty at stake in Wednesday’s third and final qualifying round tie.

The Pilgrims have reached this stage following victories over Lincoln United (3-0), Mickleover Sports (5-0) and Pinxton (3-0), while Stourport have prevailed against Gornal Athletic (4-2), Coventry Sphinx (1-0) and Lye Town (3-0).

United are expected to hand Josh Macann his first start in goal, with Marc Hipwell unavailable.

The Pilgrims hope to have an otherwise full squad to choose from, with influential midfielder Elliott Price set to return from an arm injury.

The Fantasy Island Stand will be open for spectators. Admission is priced £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.

United (from): Macann, Beauchamp, Briers, Delahoy, Devlin, Langan, Marr, Nuttell, Platten, Price, Reed, Rossington, Sanders, Sturman, Towell, Tricks, Whitaker.
