Goalkeeper Paul Farman is set to make his home debut for Boston United as the Pilgrims entertain Gloucester City on Saturday afternoon.

Farman made his outright debut in last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Stockport County and he is now poised to make his first appearance at The Jakemans Stadium as United plot a return to winning form.

The Pilgrims have been beaten in their last two outings and are winless in three at home since an opening day success over Barrow.

Opponents Gloucester have won only once in their opening nine matches — an eye-catching 4-1 win at Guiseley — and have drawn five matches and lost three.

Liam Marrs is expected to return following a knee injury, while Carl Piergianni will play his final match before serving a suspension for his red card at Stockport.

Marc Newsham is unlikely to be considered despite playing 45 minutes in a midweek friendly against Mansfield Town. He will instead continue his comeback in another friendly against Doncaster Rovers on Monday.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 2-0 in United’s favour — one of six successive league victories secured by the Pilgrims against City in Boston dating back to 1998.

Saturday’s match referee is Alf Greenwood and kick-off is at 3.00pm.

Match coverage will be available via @bostonunited on Twitter.
