Boston United have added two more players to their expanding ranks.

Highly-rated midfielder George Green (23) has linked up with the Pilgrims following his departure from National League North rivals Chester FC.

Former Dunfermline Athletic, York City and Forest Green Rovers left-back Alex Whittle (26) has, meanwhile, pledged his future to the Pilgrims to add further defensive options for manager Craig Elliott.

Both players trained with the Pilgrims for the first time on Saturday, increasing United's squad numbers to 16 in the process.

On the arrival of Green, United boss Elliott told bufc.co.uk: "I think it’s widely acknowledged that George is an incredible talent.

"He has come to this club for the right reasons to be successful. My job is to unlock this potential and to get him to grow and be the player I think he can be.

"I am really excited to be working with him this season."

Commenting on Whittle's acquisition, Elliott added: "Alex is a player I have tracked for a while. He possesses all the attributes I want in my players this season with pace, enthusiasm and a will to be successful.

"He had a great year for Warrington Town last season and has shown a lot of hunger to come and be successful for Boston United."
