Boston United manager Dennis Greene will check on the fitness of a quartet of players ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Gainsborough Trinity.

Goalkeeper Jason Alexander, defender Zak Mills, midfielder Grant Roberts and winger Kaine Felix have all been nursing injuries of varying degrees over recent days and all will be assessed ahead of the 148th Lincolnshire derby between United and Trinity.

United will definitely be without the services of defender Carl Piergianni, who serves a one-match suspension for his red card against Curzon Ashton on August 15.

The Pilgrims head to The Northolme looking to protect a 19-year unbeaten record against Trinity on their own ground.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 1-1.

Gainsborough have kicked off the season with eight points to their credit from five matches, including a 2-2 draw at title favourites AFC Fylde and a 2-0 win at AFC Telford United last time out.

Ex-Pilgrims Dominic Roma, Matt Wilson, Jamie Yates and Marc Newsham could all feature against United on Saturday.
