Boston United have entered into a new and exciting long-term stadium naming rights sponsorship contract with Sutterton-based Jakemans Confectioners.

The bumper deal will see York Street continue to be known as The Jakemans Stadium during its final years. Jakemans has also secured exclusive naming rights of the Pilgrims’ new Community Stadium at The Quadrant, which will be named The Jakemans Community Stadium.

The Jakemans brand has become synonymous with the Pilgrims over recent years — with Jakemans sponsoring the Town End stand since 2008 and the stadium itself since 2009.

Reflecting on the announcement, United commercial manager Craig Singleton told bufc.co.uk: "Jakemans Confectioners have demonstrated unbelievable support to Boston United over the last seven years and signing this new contract ensures that our partnership will last for many more years to come.

"Saying goodbye to York Street and moving into a purpose-built Community Stadium at The Quadrant are two of the biggest landmarks in the club’s history and it is fantastic news that Jakemans will be heavily involved with both milestones.

"Our continued thanks are extended to Janet Groves, George Tidy and everybody else at Jakemans for their fantastic, ongoing support.”

George Tidy, managing director of Jakemans Confectioners, added: "We thoroughly enjoy our association with Boston United and I believe signing this new long-term contract underlines our commitment to the club, its supporters and the flourishing community programme.

"Jakemans, like Boston United, are also expanding our manufacturing operations, securing our long-term future in the area. This mirrors the club’s aspirations over the coming years as they contemplate a move from one Jakemans Stadium at York Street to The Jakemans Community Stadium at The Quadrant.

"This partnership enables Jakemans to put something back into the local Boston community and supporting the club and its extensive ‘United in the Community’ programmes ticks all the right boxes for us.

"We look forward to the years ahead working in conjunction with Boston United and would like to offer special thanks to David Newton and the Board for their efforts in making this long-term partnership possible."
