Kirk returns for Hyde knockout clash

Kirk returns for Hyde knockout clash

Craig Singleton9 Dec 2011 - 11:37

Boston United entertain Blue Square Bet North leaders Hyde FC in the first round of the FA Trophy on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

The encounter at The Jakemans Stadium will afford the Pilgrims the opportunity to avenge their league defeat to the Tigers four weeks ago.

On that occasion, Shelton Payne and Danny Broadbent struck in a 2-0 success for the visitors, who are currently six points clear at the top of the league.

United will have the same players on duty following last weekend’s defeat at Hyde’s Tameside neighbours Stalybridge Celtic, although winger Tyrone Kirk is back in contention after illness.

The reserves’ top goalscorer Tony Edwards is once again included in the United squad following a late cameo against Stalybridge.

Saturday’s match referee is Lee Betts and those not in attendance can follow all the action on United Live.

Fancy a flutter? Blue Square Bet have Hyde as the even money favourites to complete a quickfire double at The Jakemans Stadium. Boston are priced 2/1, with the draw on offer at 13/5.
