A strong Grimsby Town side ran out 4-0 winners against the under-21s on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Nicky Walker, Ross Hannah and Patrick McLaughlin were enough to beat the Pilgrims' under-21s side.

Grimsby, who had a selection of first team players in their side, dominated the first half and went in 3-0 up at half-time. A fourth goal four minutes from time sealed the result.

Sam Vince made a selection of excellent saves during the game to keep the Pilgrims in the match.

Zeph Thomas had Boston's best chances in the second half. The match again gave useful game time to Vince, Thomas, David Fallah, Jamie McGhee, Marc Newsham and Louis Saebe, while youth team players and trialists completed the line-up.

Further under-21s fixtures scheduled for the New Year will be announced in due course.
