The 20-year-old centre back recruit says he wants to get into a settled phase of his career — and help Boston United achieve success at the same time.
Speaking after turning in another solid display in the Pilgrims’ 4-0 Lincolnshire Senior Shield away to Lincoln United, he said: “My immediate aim is to force my way into the side and play as many games as possible and do well for Boston.
“As a team, I used to watch them as a kid, so I already knew a lot about the club before I came here. There’s a great bunch of lads here and I am settling in really well.”
The former Lincoln City and Barnsley defender, who had spells in League Two with Accrington and Hereford last term, said: “It was an up and down time for me last season. Obviously I want to play at as high a level as possible, but for the moment I want to play as many games as possible for Boston and see where that takes us”
Pilgrims’ boss Jason Lee said: “Kern has shown the right attitude in the time he has been with us. However, he needs a run of games, which he hasn’t been able to get anywhere he’s been. But we will certainly give him the platform to show what he can do.”
