York left-sider Muggleton (21) has joined the Pilgrims on an initial month’s loan. The former Gillingham and Barnet player is capable of operating anywhere down the left-hand side.

Peterborough striker Penfold (18), meanwhile, has linked up with the Pilgrims on a youth loan basis. He has already spent a successful loan spell with Biggleswade Town this season and scored three times in his month-long stay with the Southern League side.

Both players are eligible to make their United debuts at the Tameside Stadium.

On the outgoings front, striker Tyrell Waite (23) has extended his loan spell into a second month with Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division side Matlock Town.
