Newsham and McGhee in the goals

Newsham, who is continuing his rehabiliation from a long-standing knee injury, struck twice in the second half during the Pilgrims’ 7-0 win at The Wong.

There was also a welcome appearance — and goal — from winger Jamie McGhee.

Trialist Zeph Thomas bagged a hat-trick for the Pilgrims, while Scott Garner also got himself on target in a rare outing for the under-21s.

The likes of Stefan Galinski, Charley Sanders, Kaine Felix and Niall Doran got valuable game time under their belts too.
