Boston United and Mick George have entered into an exciting new partnership ahead of the 2016-2017 Vanarama National League North campaign.

After a long summer of international football, the Pilgrims' faithful will be glad to see the return of domestic football this weekend, as they welcome Stalybridge Celtic to The Jakemans Stadium for the opening league fixture of the season.

The club has been busy on the pitch preparing to hopefully go one step further this time around and achieve their promotion aspirations, while off the pitch they have been equally as proactive.

Having engaged in minor sponsorship activities last season, local business Mick George Ltd have come to an arrangement that will see the construction company feature as the Main Stand sponsor for the remainder of football to be played at the stadium before moving in to new premises at The Quadrant.

The partnership will see Mick George Ltd becoming the new waste management provider for the club's facilities as well as offering matchday entertainment in the form of the 'Skip Challenge' and 'Mick the Skip' mascot appearances throughout the year.

Jon Stump, finance director of Mick George Ltd, commented: "The brief encounter that we had last year with the club after opening our new site in the town was a good one. We were keen to progress our involvement and thought this was a good opportunity.

"Throughout the season we will look to engage with supporters and hopefully use our experience of sponsoring other higher league teams to benefit their experience."

United commercial manager Craig Singleton told bufc.co.uk: "We are delighted to be working with Mick George and thank Jon Stump, Stuart Costello and Sean Feeley for all their help and assistance to date.

"We look forward to working with Mick George during the remainder of our time at York Street — and hopefully beyond into The Jakemans Community Stadium at The Quadrant."
