Boston United will be targeting three points on Saturday when AFC Telford United visit in a re-arranged Vanarama National League North fixture.

With both clubs eliminated from the Emirates FA Cup, the league match has been brought forward from February to be played on Saturday at The Jakemans Stadium.

While United will be eager to build upon last weekend’s excellent 3-1 win at Nuneaton Town, rock-bottom Telford are looking for their first away points of the season.

The Bucks, relegated to National League North at the end of last season, have collected just one win and five points from 11 league matches to date and have scored only twice from open play.

Rob Smith has replaced Steve Kittrick in the Telford hotseat and the Bucks have got their only victory to date — against Brackley Town — under the new manager’s stewardship.

The Pilgrims, meanwhile, will have to make at least one change from last week’s win at Liberty Way, with Aaron Greene ruled out for the season through cruciate ligament damage.

Jason Alexander, Jay Rollins and Lartey Sarpong are all set to remain on the sidelines with a variety of injury problems.

The last meeting of the sides at The Jakemans Stadium took place in August 2013 when Peter Bore scored a terrific equaliser for the Pilgrims following Sean Clancy’s early penalty for the Bucks.

Clancy is likely to be one of only three players appearing on Saturday who played in the 1-1 draw in August 2013, with United duo Scott Garner and Carl Piergianni being the others.

Saturday’s match referee is Matthew Buonassisi and kick-off is at 3.00pm, with updates available on Twitter.
