New loan signing Matt Wilson reckons the prospects are bright for Boston United.

And the 25-year-old, recruited on a three-month deal from Blue Square Premier club Alfreton, says he wants to be part of a positive phase for the club.

He said: “Judging by the young players we have here, it could all develop into a really good team. We could go well this season.”

Wilson returned to the Jakemans Stadium scene in the narrow 2-1 home loss to Mansfield — having netted an equaliser against the Pilgrims when Guiseley visited and drew 3-3 on the final day of last season.

He said: “I hope the fans have forgiven me for that goal. I am certainly going to give 100 percent to the cause.

“I am here initially for three months with a view to extending the stay after that. I was keen to come to Boston because it has a tradition for being a big club and the fact that Jason (Lee) showed a lot of interest in getting me here.

“It’s nice to be wanted like that. He has asked me to come in and be a presence. Hopefully I can deliver on that.”
