Strike pair net in midweek victory

Strike pair net in midweek victory

Craig Singleton31 Jan 2012 - 22:42

Second half strikes from Tom Sergeant and Leon Constantine handed a Boston United XI a 2-0 victory over Sleaford Town at Eslaforde Park on Tuesday.

The match was played in freezing conditions but the Pilgrims' mixture of fringe first teamers and reserve team players always looked in control.

Substitute SERGEANT handed United the lead on 67 minutes with a crisp low finish from 18 yards.

The win was wrapped up on 88 minutes when CONSTANTINE neatly chested down Tyrone Kirk's free-kick delivery before smashing the ball home from 12 yards out.

Constantine and Kirk got valuable 90-minute outings under their belts, as did the likes of Ricky Drury, Kevin Austin, Nathan Stainfield and Chris Hall.

Boston (4-3-3): Ricky Drury; Lewis Sturman (Mark Thompson 46), Nathan Stainfield, Kevin Austin, Jason Field (Scott Dawson 70); Chris Hall, Richard Jackson, Tyrone Kirk; Leon Constantine, Jordan Nuttell (Tom Sergeant 46), Tony Edwards. Subs (not used): Liam Ogden, Andy Hewitt (gk).
