Opposition from npower Championship clubs Hull City and Peterborough United will sandwich a visit from Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Mansfield Town over a seven-day period.
And Pilgrims’ boss Jason Lee hopes the action trilogy will enable Boston fans to savour three high calibre fixtures at the Jakemans Stadium in the build-up to the new season in earnest.
Hull, now under the managership of former Manchester United centre back Steve Bruce, will start the action tomorrow (Wednesday) evening with an earlier-than-normal 7.30pm kick-off time. Mansfield are the visitors on Friday evening (August 3, 7.45pm) and then Peterborough come to town on Tuesday August 7 (also 7.45pm).
Lee said: “We will be preparing ourselves for higher class opposition when we expect to have less possession than we have done so far in our build-up games.
“But Graham (Hyde) and I will be looking to see what we can do on a good playing surface in terms of hard work off the ball and constructive play when we have it.
“Again, it’s mainly about getting match time for all our players and working on things in all areas of the pitch.
“I think we will continue to mix and match in terms of the line-ups we put out and see how people react and respond.
“I have to emphasise that, although we are starting to look at the likely make-up of our starting XI when August 18 gets here, there are still chances for everyone to impress and stake claims for first team places.”
