Boston United head to North Ferriby United on Saturday looking to reach the second round of the FA Trophy for the fourth time in five seasons.

The Pilgrims, who defeated Workington 2-1 in the third qualifying round, will welcome back skipper Scott Garner following a one-match suspension.

Ferriby, meanwhile, defeated Mickleover Sports 6-2 in the last round and have already recorded a 1-0 win over the Pilgrims at The Jakemans Stadium this season.

While Garner is definitely back in contention, Boston boss Dennis Greene will check on the fitness of Greg Tempest (knee) and Dayle Southwell (hamstring) who both missed the 1-1 draw against Brackley Town last weekend.

Definite absentees are cup-tied striker Zeph Thomas and injured midfielder Conor Marshall (ankle).

Ferriby could include former Boston players Matt Wilson, Russell Fry and Jamie Yates in their squad for Saturday’s contest.

The Pilgrims — who will be back at Church Road for a league fixture on December 28 — will be taking on a Ferriby side who have four wins and four draws to their credit on home soil in Vanarama Conference North.

Their solitary defeat to date arrived courtesy of a 3-1 loss to Solihull Moors.

Kick-off at Church Road is 3.00pm.

Should Saturday’s tie require a replay, it would be staged at The Jakemans Stadium on Tuesday (December 16, kick-off 7.45pm).
