United aiming to halt Chester progress

United aiming to halt Chester progress

Craig Singleton14 Sep 2012 - 10:18

Boston United entertain Chester FC at The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday hoping to end the Blues’ 100 percent start to the season.

Chester have won all seven league encounters played to date — including eye-catching home wins over FC Halifax Town and Guiseley and away victories at Oxford City, Altrincham and Solihull Moors.

The Pilgrims, meanwhile, showed resilience in last weekend’s 2-0 win at Colwyn Bay to end a four-match losing streak and they will need more of the same to extract home comforts against Neil Young’s newly-promoted side.

United are expected to have full-back Conor Marshall in contention following an Achilles injury, but striker Mark Jones (ankle) and midfielder Matt Wilson (knee) are both on the sidelines still.

Spencer Weir-Daley will be hoping to build on his impressive record of five goals from five appearances so far this season.

Chester’s on-loan Macclesfield Town striker Ben Mills plays the final game of his initial month with the Blues — having already netted nine times in seven matches.

United’s last encounter against Chester (City) arrived in April 2007 when a Jamie Stevens goal handed the Pilgrims all three points in a 1-0 home win.

The Pilgrims are priced 4/1 with Blue Square Bet to record a home win on Saturday. Chester are the odds-on favourites at 8/15 while the draw is available at 11/4.

BLUE SQUARE ODDS: Boston United v Chester FC.

Saturday’s match referee at The Jakemans Stadium is John Brooks.
