Boston United have confirmed the management structure of the club’s new under-21s set-up.

United assistant manager Martyn Bunce will oversee the whole project, with Glen Maddison returning to The Jakemans Stadium as under-21s manager, alongside coach Allan Ross.

Glen made a handful of senior appearances for the Pilgrims in the 1990s and managed the club’s reserve side between 2010 and 2012 before leaving to take over as first team manager at Sleaford Town initially and then Holbeach United.

Alan, meanwhile, is a respected coach within the club’s Centre of Excellence.

United chairman David Newton told bufc.co.uk: “We are delighted to welcome Glen back to the club. In addition to his coaching abilities and knowledge of local players, he has great organisational skills.

“Allan has proved himself as an excellent coach in the Centre of Excellence and it is great to give him the opportunity to step up his coaching career.

“With Martyn Bunce overseeing the development squad it will ensure synergy between the training methods and patterns of play adopted by the first team. I thank Glen, Allan and Martyn for their commitment to the project and we will hopefully see the benefits in the coming seasons.”

The under-21s will play a series of fixtures throughout the 2014-2015 campaign against the likes of Doncaster Rovers, Notts County, Mansfield Town, Grimsby Town and Lincoln City — with home fixtures likely to be played in midweek at The Jakemans Stadium.

Their pre-season preparations will get under way against Peterborough Northern Star on Thursday July 31.
