Boston United travel to Guiseley in a crucial ‘six-pointer’ at the top end of Vanarama Conference North on Saturday afternoon.

The Pilgrims climbed above Guiseley on goals scored following their 5-0 win over Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday — but dropped back below the Lions after losing 3-0 at AFC Fylde in midweek.

Fifth-placed Guiseley and sixth-placed United are locked together on 48 points apiece — but the Yorkshire side have four games in hand over their promotion rivals.

Victory is therefore imperative for the Pilgrims, but the hosts will also be keen to avenge a 5-1 defeat at the hands of United on January 24.

United boss Dennis Greene will hope that winger Kaine Felix and top scorer Dayle Southwell are fit enough to start after being confined to the bench at Fylde on Tuesday.

Massiah McDonald is also likely to return to the squad after being unavailable in midweek.

Since losing heavily at The Jakemans Stadium, Guiseley responded by beating Fylde 3-1 on home soil, before losing 2-0 at home to Hednesford Town last time out.

Ex-Pilgrim Adam Boyes missed the reverse fixture through suspension but is expected to lead the line against United on Saturday.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 1-0 in Guiseley’s favour.

Kick-off at Nethermoor Park is 3.00pm.
