Boston United will aim to bounce back to winning ways when they make the long journey to the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Mid-table rivals Southport are lying in wait for Craig Elliott's side, who turned in a spirited yet unrewarded performance against new leaders Stockport County on Tuesday evening.

At the same time, the Sandgrounders were picking up a creditable draw at Spennymoor Town to close the gap on the Pilgrims to a solitary point.

United's on-loan York City striker Jake Wright is set to continue in attack having played 83 minutes on his debut against Stockport.

All eyes will be on whether Jay Rollins is deemed fit enough to start after a combination of a knock and fatigue after a long injury lay-off confined him to the bench on Tuesday.

Southport won the reverse fixture 2-1 back in November courtesy of Ryan Astles' stoppage time goal, while last season's corresponding fixture, on the opening day, ended 4-0 to the northwest club.

Saturday's match referee is Richard Aspinall, who has never previously taken charge of a match involving the Pilgrims.
