United clinch Friend loan move

The 18-year-old frontman, who played 70 minutes for the Pilgrims in their 4-1 victory over Nottingham Forest’s under-21s development squad on Wednesday evening, has officially put pen-to-paper to complete his move to The Jakemans Stadium.

Friend has been recruited to provide competition for existing United strikers Dayle Southwell and Mark Jones and becomes the Pilgrims’ second signing of the summer so far.

He is expected to feature against Lincoln City in the Bluefin Sport Lincolnshire Senior Cup on Saturday.
