The title sponsors of the Blue Square Bet football leagues (Premier, North and South) have allocated different horses in two races to all clubs going into tomorrow’s prestigious meeting at the West Sussex course.
The Pilgrims’ designated entry is Piazza San Pietro. Unfortunately it was balloted out of the main event, the Stewards’ Cup. But it will now take its chance in the consolation contest, the Stewards’ Sprint Stakes.
If successful in crossing the line first, “Piazza” will net United connections £1,000 plus the equivalent to returns for a £100 bet at Blue Square Bet starting price odds.
As things stand, the horse (number eight on the racecard and drawn in outside stall 28) is priced among the lesser-fancied runners at odds of around 33/1.
Top prize for clubs with horses running in the main Stewards’ Cup later in the afternoon is £2,000 from Blue Square Bet plus bonus bet returns.
