Boston United have issued a statement in relation to an incident which occurred against Gainsborough Trinity on February 2.

The statement reads: "Following the crowd disturbance at The Northolme during the Conference North fixture against Gainsborough Trinity in February of this year, the club issued temporary banning orders against a number of Boston United supporters and have subsequently worked closely with Lincolnshire Police over the matter.

"Three people were interviewed by Gainsborough Police in relation to the incident, which resulted in one male being cautioned for assault.

"Following consultation with the Police, the same male has received a ban from all Boston United fixtures until the end of the season. The other bans have now been lifted.

"We will not tolerate this type of behaviour either at The Jakemans Stadium or at away fixtures. We will always co-operate fully with the Police and pursue matters to a conclusion. A football ground should be a safe place to visit and we will do all we can to ensure that is the case.

"We thank Lincolnshire Police, and in particular the club’s Police liaison officer Simon Oswin, for their help with this matter."
