A record-breaking 35 teams turned out for Boston United's annual golf tournament, kindly sponsored by Drayton Motors, on Friday.

The Pilgrims smashed their record for team entries in the modern era, with 140 golfers gracing the fairways and greens of Boston Golf Club's Cowbridge course.

A host of United supporters, sponsors and players and staff, past and present, took part — with the United Legends (including club heroes Dave Adamson, Gary Mallender and Chris Cook) emerging as victors with 103 points.

Prizes went to the top seven teams, with Jackson Buildbase finishing runners-up for the second year running:

1 United Legends 103
2 Jackson Buildbase 101
3 Natwest Boston 99
4 Balls Deep 98
5 The Rogues 97
6 MS Events 96
7 Team Agri 95

United commercial manager and tournament organiser Craig Singleton said: "I would like to thank everybody for their support on a record-breaking day numbers-wise.

"It was fantastic to see such a cross-section of people supporting the club and fitting to see two men who have supported the tournament for many years (Dave Adamson and Gary Mallender) walk away with their first title.

"I would like to make a particular mention of Darren Bradford at Drayton Motors for his ongoing sponsorship and Roy Hackford for all his help and support on the day."

The date for the 2020 tournament will be confirmed shortly.
