The 18-year-old has penned youth loan forms until the end of the season following an earlier loan spell with Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division outfit Grantham Town where he netted 11 goals.

Simmons, who turns 19 during his loan stint with United, is eligible to make his Pilgrims' debut on New Year's Day against Lowestoft Town.

The Pilgrims are also poised to complete the signing of 20-year-old Rotherham United winger Nicky Walker following the expiry of his loan spell with Vanarama Conference Premier side Grimsby Town.

He has also appeared for Wycombe Wanderers on loan.
