Vanarama Conference North play-off action begins on Wednesday evening with Boston United making the long journey to face Chorley at Victory Park.

Third-placed United travel to fourth-placed Chorley for the first leg ahead of Saturday’s return fixture at The Jakemans Stadium.

The Pilgrims won 2-1 at Victory Park earlier in the campaign and will be hoping to return to Lincolnshire with their long unbeaten record still intact.

Not since losing 2-0 at Guiseley on February 21 have the Pilgrims tasted defeat and Dennis Greene will be keen to see his side enhance that run when they head to Lancashire on Wednesday night.

The likes of Liam Marrs, Scott Garner, Grant Roberts, Mark Jones and Dayle Southwell were all rested for Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Leamington but all are expected to return for Wednesday’s crunch clash against the Magpies.

Greene will head north with a full 20-man squad at his disposal for the first leg tie.

Garry Flitcroft’s Chorley side suffered only two home defeats during the regulation campaign — one of which was to the Pilgrims on November 8.

The Magpies are winless in four since a 4-3 victory over North Ferriby United on April 4. They have drawn 0-0 in their last two outings at home (against Barrow and Solihull Moors).

Kick-off at Victory Park is 7.45pm.
