Boston United make the trip to face Hednesford Town on Saturday afternoon in pursuit of crucial points to maintain their play-off quest.

The Pilgrims head into the weekend four points off the coveted play-off positions and eight points behind Saturday’s opponents, albeit with a game in hand.

Town have won seven of their last eight matches to enhance their claims of finishing in the top five — including a 2-0 home win over title hopefuls AFC Fylde on Tuesday evening.

Hednesford are unbeaten at home since November 22 when they suffered only one of three home defeats to date — against Tamworth.

United, meanwhile, are looking for only their second away victory of the New Year having secured a 3-1 win at bottom side Hyde FC on February 7.

Zak Mills will undergo a fitness check on an ongoing Achilles problem, while Sam Vince (thigh) and Jamie McGhee (ankle) could return to contention.

Sunderland loanee Max Stryjek is expected to continue in goal for the Pilgrims after making his debut in last weekend’s 5-2 home win over Harrogate Town.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 4-2 in Town’s favour against a depleted United side.

Kick-off at Keys Park is 3.00pm.
