Boston United kick-off their September schedule with a trip to the Midlands to face Hednesford Town on Saturday afternoon.

Following a mixed opening month, United boss Dennis Greene will be eager to see his side start another winning run to establish themselves in the upper echelons of Vanarama National League North.

It will be United’s fourth away match of the campaign to date, following victory at Brackley Town and defeats to Stockport County and Gainsborough Trinity.

Hednesford, meanwhile, have lost the services of manager Rob Smith to former club AFC Telford United and have endured mixed fortunes since his departure — a 3-0 home defeat to FC United of Manchester followed by a 4-1 win at Worcester City on Bank Holiday Monday.

United will welcome goalkeeper Henrich Ravas back into the fold following another stint on international duty with Slovakia’s under-19s.

Winger Jamie McGhee should also return following a groin injury but Zak Mills might not be risked as he continues his comeback from a hamstring strain.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 2-1 in United’s favour courtesy of goals from Carl Piergianni and Dayle Southwell.
