Defender Nathan Stainfield was overjoyed to make a winning return to action for Boston United on Tuesday evening.
The 23-year-old, who was selected with Lee Canoville and Kevin Austin sidelined, was imperious alongside Tom Ward as the Pilgrims shut out Vauxhall Motors at Rivacre Park.
Stainfield discussed his long-awaited return to first team action and the Pilgrims’ deserved 4-0 win.
The centre-half, who revelled in keeping a clean sheet, targeted keeping his place and recording another victory against Gloucester City on Saturday.
