Honours ended even as Boston United and Aston Villa fought out a goalless draw at The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The two sides served up entertaining fare inside the first three quarters of the contest although 20 substitutions by the mid-point of the second period disrupted proceedings.
Scott Garner and Jamie McGhee went closest for United, while Mikey Drennan and Daniel Johnson carried the biggest threat for Villa.
