First half goals from Ben Davison and ex-Pilgrim Paul Watts handed Skegness the initiative and despite a Tom Sergeant
reply after half-time, it was the Lincolnshire League runners-up who prevailed.
The Pilgrims battled strongly during the second half, but were kept at bay by Skegness keeper Ben Pritchard and his backline.
Strikes from DAVISON
afforded Skegness a comfortable interval lead but the Pilgrims roared back into contention when SERGEANT
scored only a matter of minutes after coming on.
The Pilgrims piled on the pressure in the closing stages but were unable to breach the Skegness rearguard further — with Mark Hallam’s side going on to lift the cup and complete a treble over Boston this season.
