Boston United Reserves booked a safe passage in the Supplementary Cup after thrashing Ruston Sports 6-2 at The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Two goals from Bert Snaith led the way for the Pilgrims — with Tony Edwards, Jordan Nuttell, Nick Bishop and Tom Sergeant also on target.
The Pilgrims will now entertain Heckington United or CGB Humbertherm in the next round on Saturday March 3.
United took control of the game from the outset. EDWARDS handed United a 15th minute lead, before SNAITH doubled the money seven minutes later.
SNAITH and BISHOP struck on 30 and 44 minutes respectively, although Ruston’s Lewis DEAN had briefly replied for the visitors.
NUTTELL and SERGEANT added late goals in the second half to cap United’s dominance, but Stuart HUTTON scored the last goal of the game seven minutes from time to add some more respectability to the scoreline from Ruston’s viewpoint.
