Boston United 3-1 Norwich City XI

First half goals from Dayle Southwell, Kaine Felix and Scott Garner handed United as unassailable lead against a Norwich team which included experienced Cameroon international Sebastien Bassong.

City sub Cameron King cut the deficit four minutes from time, but a United side featuring their own array of youthful trialists deservedly prevailed.

United went ahead on the half-hour mark when SOUTHWELL angled home a terrific effort from 20 yards and their lead was doubled six minutes later when FELIX lifted the loose ball into an unguarded net after keeper Remi Matthews had made a hash of his clearance.

GARNER, who had already hit the post, added further gloss to the scoreline on the stroke of half-time after outmuscling Bassong to lift an effort into the top corner.

Norwich's consolation arrived in the 86th minute when KING netted after the Pilgrims failed to clear their lines.
