Grantham Town 2-2 Boston United

United went in 2-0 up at half-time before two late goals for Grantham courtesy of Gregg Smith and Phil Watt ended the game in a draw as pre-season preparations came to a close ahead of Saturday's opening Vanarama Conference North fixture.

Boston started strongly in this physical encounter and soon took the lead through on 18 minutes when Zak Mills' pinpoint cross found the head of McGHEE who converted past Grantham keeper Jake Turner.

Grantham did have chances, notably from Paul Grimes whose free-kick destined for the goal was tipped over excellently by Matt Gledhill.

United doubled the lead on 35 minutes when McGhee's free-kick found Dayle Southwell and the resulting clearance by Grantham landed to HOLLINGSWORTH who drove the ball home.

The best chance of the second half for Boston came from Kaine Felix who went through one-on-one with Grantham keeper Turner who saved well from the resulting effort.

Grantham got one back on 80 minutes when a free-kick was played out wide to SMITH who fired the ball home past Gledhill.

The equaliser came in the 90th minute when WATT tapped home a scramble in the box from a corner to claim the draw.
