Buxton 1-1 Boston United

The Pilgrims fought back from a 1-0 deficit to deny Buxton all three points at Silverlands.

Ex-Pilgrim Jordan Burrow had headed the Bucks into a 57th minute lead, only for Mooney to guide home Zak Mills' excellent cross four minutes into additional time.

United handed debuts to seven players ahead of kick-off, while Brad Nicholson and Jordan Richards kicked off their second stints in amber and black.

Buxton bossed the early territory, but found clear-cut chances hard to come by. Connor Kirby sailed their first effort wide from distance.

United thought they had taken the lead when Mooney headed goalwards from a Martin Woods corner, only for keeper Max Dearnley to scramble the ball away, with the Pilgrims appealing in vain that it had crossed the line. Jimmy Knowles' follow-up was blocked at close quarters.

Sam Smart grazed the crossbar for Buxton, but the match remained deadlocked at the interval.

The Pilgrims enjoyed a bright 10-minute spell at the start of the second half, with Michael Bostwick whistling an effort wide from a Woods corner.

However, the home side took the lead in the 57th minute when BURROW got up majestically to meet Sam Minihan's cross from the right and bury the ball beyond Cameron Gregory.

The Pilgrims introduced Sam McLintock, with Michael Gyasi and Oliver Wilson both following, and went close to an equaliser when Richards saw his effort deflect agonisingly wide.

However, redemption arrived in the fourth of eight added minutes when Mills received his own throw-in back from Wilson and crossed for MOONEY to get in front of Max Hunt to delight the 325-strong army of travelling supporters.
