United were good value for their point at the Lamb Ground, but could have taken all three after creating the better chances.

Kelsey Mooney was denied early on by Jas Singh and Tom Leak headed a fraction too high from the resulting Martin Woods corner.

Despite collecting an excellent point on the road, the Pilgrims felt it could have been more - with Mooney and Leak going agonisingly close early on. Mooney seized upon a poor Jas Singh clearance, but the Tamworth keeper recovered with an excellent save one-on-one, with Leak heading over from the subsequent Woods flag-kick.

Tamworth's Ben Acquaye had the home side's first two chances of the game - blazing wide and then forcing Aaron Chapman into a near post save.

Chances remained at a premium, with both sides losing key players to injury after the break, with Liam Dolman and then Jordan Richards withdrawn.

Dolman's replacement - Jordan Cullinane-Liburd - sent a header over the bar from one of Tom Tonks' huge throw-ins, while Jacob Hazel could only fire high and wide after meeting Michael Bostwick's throughball.

Chapman saved well to deny substitute Kai Williams, while Singh thwarted Hazel in stoppage time, as honours ended even.
