Blyth Spartans 2-2 Boston United

The Pilgrims led 2-0 at the break, courtesy of goals from Keaton Ward and Kelsey Mooney, but were unable to convert more of their chances to hold a healthier advantage at the interval.

Blyth, fresh from their midweek takeover, hit back with goals inside the final 18 minutes from Jordan Cook and Finn Cousin-Dawson.

Cook crashed the first chance of the game off target for the hosts, but United took a 13th minute lead when Jimmy Knowles flicked the ball round the corner for WARD to beat Alex Mitchell with a crisp low finish from outside the box.

Mitchell made a fine save to deny Mooney as the match ticked towards half-time, only for United to grab their second in first half stoppage time. Knowles again played the role of provider, this time from the right, and MOONEY stabbed the loose ball home from close-range.

Blyth cut the deficit with 18 minutes to play when United cleared the first phase of Nicky Deverdics' free-kick, only for COOK to rifle the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.

Mitchell immediately stopped Mooney re-asserting United's lead - and COUSIN-DAWSON took full advantage when he glanced home Deverdics' corner with seven minutes to play.
