Worcester City 0-2 Boston United
Adam Chapman and debutant Louis Briscoe struck crucial first half goals as Boston United recorded an important away win on Saturday.
The Pilgrims accounted for Worcester City at the Victoria Ground courtesy of Chapman's 22nd minute penalty and Briscoe's 44th minute free-kick.
United were indebted to keeper Ross Durrant for saving Jordan Murphy's spot-kick in between times, with the City man rattling the crossbar with the follow-up.
Briscoe had been handed his debut from the start following his midweek switch from Tamworth, while Kidderminster Harriers loanee Mani Dieseruvwe took up his place on the bench.
Striker Colby Bishop, making his first return to Bromsgrove as a United player, tested Ethan Ross inside 15 minutes but the Worcester stopper kept him at bay.
United were awarded their spot-kick when Harry Vince was shoved in the box by Ebby Nelson-Addy and CHAPMAN did the rest with a composed finish from 12 yards.
City were afforded a shot at redemption five minutes later when Lewis Hilliard tripped Nelson-Addy at the other end but Durrant made a fine save to thwart Murphy before the Worcester man somehow crashed his rebound against the underside of the bar.
United punished their hosts a minute short of half-time when James Chambers was penalised for fouling Jay Rollins 22 yards from goal and BRISCOE fired home a low free-kick which nestled beyond the defensive wall and keeper Ross.
The second half was a scrappy affair, which suited the Pilgrims, and the two best chances fell to Hilliard, whose flick was parried by Ross, and substitute Dieseruvwe who angled an effort across goal and wide.
