Boston United 3-0 AFC Telford United
Jay Rollins scored twice as Boston United banished any lingering relegation fears on Saturday afternoon.
The Pilgrims mathematically guaranteed their survival following a 3-0 win over AFC Telford United at The Jakemans Stadium.
Rollins scored in the 11th and 72nd minutes, either side of a penalty won and scored by Mani Dieseruvwe.
Adam Chapman was back in the United XI, at the expense of Shane Clarke, as Adam Murray made one change to the side which had drawn 0-0 at Brackley Town seven days previously.
Louis Briscoe rattled the woodwork after only five minutes, with Telford keeper Callum Burton directing his free-kick on to the crossbar and behind as Boston started well.
United edged ahead six minutes later when Briscoe flicked on Ross Durrant’s long clearance and ROLLINS ran on to angle a fine finish past an exposed Burton.
Chapman and Dieseruvwe were both denied in quick succession by resolute pieces of Telford defending, while Harry Vince nodded a header wide following Briscoe’s cross from the left.
Durrant kept the Pilgrims in front at half-time with a fine double save to deny Lee Hughes and John Marsden.
Briscoe had already forced Burton into another fine save at the start of the second half by the time United won the spot-kick which led to their second goal.
Joel Dielna clipped the ankles of DIESERUVWE and the big frontman picked himself up to send Burton the wrong way from 12 yards.
Burton made a further save to deny Jack Broadhead from distance but the Pilgrims extinguished any hopes of a Telford comeback when ROLLINS tapped the ball home from close-range after Briscoe had squared the ball following an initial Burton save to thwart Dieseruvwe.
