Second half goals from Spencer Weir-Daley and Carl Piergianni handed Boston United three crucial Skrill North points on Saturday afternoon.

The Pilgrims trailed Colwyn Bay at half-time, courtesy of Jonathan Royle's spot-kick two minutes before the break, but came roaring back after the interval.

Weir-Daley struck moments after Bay defender Danny Taylor had been dismissed and Piergianni did likewise once Tom Smyth was sent off.

Bay assistant boss Ade Akinbiyi was also escorted from the dugout amid a chaotic finale to the match.

Bay had been bright from the off, with Marc Williams hitting the post with a header from Michael Lea's corner.

A subsequent scramble in the Boston box then saw Piergianni deny Cameron Darkwah's driven cross-shot before Rob Hopley blasted wide.

United started to create, with Rene Steer blazing over from distance before keeper Chris Sanna grabbed Scott Garner's header.

Ricky Miller's cutback was then volleyed wide of the far post by Marc Newsham.

United debutant goalkeeper Lewis King was involved in a major talking point two minutes before the break when he was adjudged to have fouled Gareth Evans in the box. ROYLE dispatched the resultant penalty.

There was a great chance for Boston to level immediately, but Newsham headed wide from Conor Marshall's cross.

Sanna made a superb save, with his legs, to deny clean through Miller after the break, before Bay's discipline started to unravel.

Taylor had been penalised for kicking the ball away before receiving his matching orders three minutes later when he cleared ignored the referee's instruction not to take a free-kick until the whistle had been blown.

United levelled shortly afterwards. Piergianni's header was brilliantly clawed away by Sanna and WEIR-DALEY was on hand to slam home Steer's return cross.

Newsham soon rattled the post, before Bay's Evans drilled across goal and wide following Hopley's assist.

Smyth was sent off after fouling Miller and verbally attacking the assistant referee and United again made them pay quickly.

A clever free-kick routine saw Ian Ross cross to the back post and PIERGIANNI looped a header back across goal and beyond Sanna's grasp.

United duly saw out time, with the luckless Miller striking the post in stoppage time.
