Ricky Miller, Scott Garner, Liam Agnew and Ben Milnes all got on the scoresheet as Boston United ripped apart fellow play-off chasers Hednesford Town.

Miller and Garner gave the Pilgrims a two-goal lead inside the opening 16 minutes, the same stage at which they were down to nine men at Harrogate Town a week ago.

Agnew and Milnes added impressive second half strikes as the Pilgrims edged up to fourth place in Skrill North after an excellent display on home soil.

Dennis Greene had been handed a boost prior to kick-off with Rene Steer, Jamie McGhee and Stefan Galinski all declared fit, with the former pair starting, but Ryan Semple was ruled out with a hamstring injury.

United also handed a debut to on-loan Sunderland left-back David Ferguson.

Early exchanges were tight but United went ahead after being awarded a penalty on 12 minutes. Ben Bailey tripped MILLER in the box, with the United man picking himself up to dispatch the spot-kick high to Dan Crane's right.

United doubled their lead four minutes later when Ian Ross clipped a free-kick into the box, following a foul on Steer, and GARNER looped home a header from an improbable angle.

Lewis King kept the Pilgrims two goals to the good with an excellent low save to deny Charlie Anagho-Ntamark, while opposite number Crane soon produced similar heroics to claw Miller's fierce drive behind for a corner.

King made a great stop at the beginning of the second half to deny Marvin Robinson's header, with substitute Paul Sullivan blasting the rebound against the underside of the crossbar.

United made the most of their reprieve when Marc Newsham galloped clear down the United right to cut the ball back for AGNEW to finish with aplomb from the edge of the box.

King made his third save of the afternoon to deny a clean through Sullivan and United added their fourth goal with 11 minutes to play.

Miller's driven cross saw Newsham and substitute Ben Fairclough both have nibbles at it, but the ball fell nicely for MILNES to blast home a stunner from 20 yards.
