Boston United served up a second half horror show to conclude the Skrill North campaign on a losing note against Worcester City on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Nti handed City a deserved 53th minute lead, with full-back Tyler Weir adding two long-range strikes on 60 and 76 minutes respectively.

The result left United, backed by 306 travelling supporters, sixth in the table, but the result was academic given Guiseley's 3-1 win over Gloucester City.

The Pilgrims' woes were compounded five minutes from time when Stefan Galinski was handed a straight red card.

United were unchanged from the side which had won convincingly on Easter Monday against North Ferriby United and could have been ahead in freak circumstances after a minute.

City keeper Jose Veiga crashed a clearance against Liam Agnew, with the ball bouncing agonisingly wide.

Jamie McGhee then drove a shot wide following Junior Konadu's chipped assist.

Lewis King made an excellent save at the other end to deny Nti who had swivelled to meet Aaron Williams' cross.

The second half started with City on the front foot and Aaron Brown's header landed on the roof of the net after the Pilgrims had only partially cleared Ellis Deeney's corner.

City took the lead eight minutes after the break. United had already survived a massive shout of the ball crossing the line but NTI eventually pounced from close-range from the return cross.

Boston responded and Weir produced a brilliant block, in front of his keeper, to deny Ricky Miller who had met McGhee's cutback.

United's near miss was capitalised on immediately by the hosts with WEIR surging through to bury a low shot past King from 20 yards.

City added their third goal with 14 minutes to play when WEIR sailed an effort goalwards which nestled into the far top corner via a big deflection off Zak Mills.

Dennis Greene handed keeper Andy Hewitt his senior debut with 12 minutes to play and he made an excellent save to deny Ethan Moore in the closing stages.

United's afternoon got even worse on 85 minutes when Galinski was red-carded after bringing down Ebby Nelson-Addy, who was through on goal.
