Forum marks five-year anniversary

Forum marks five-year anniversary

Craig Singleton3 Jul 2012 - 15:08

David Newton and Neil Kempster will be fronting a fans’ forum on Wednesday — exactly five years after assuming control of Boston United.

The Chestnut Homes duo held their first press conference on July 4, 2007 — and will be addressing supporters once more five years to the day since rescuing the club from the brink of closure.

Having saved and stabilised the club during their five-year reign as owners of the Pilgrims, Newton and Kempster have also plotted an expansive community programme which now interacts with thousands of people every week.

With moves afoot for a new stadium too, there are so many reasons for United fans and staff members to be thankful for the continued efforts of the club’s chairman and vice-chairman.

Newton and Kempster will be joined on stage by current manager Jason Lee and new assistant boss Graham Hyde on Wednesday evening.

The forum in The Pilgrim Lounge gets under way at 7.30pm and will be hosted by BBC Lincolnshire’s Scott Dalton.
